Jump Ship Brewing is an exciting Scottish brewery, based in Edinburgh, that’s making waves. Founder Sonja Mitchell combined her love for sailing and beer drinking (without next-day hangovers) into “the first Scottish brewery dedicated to making world class low-alcohol beer”. And they’re clearly onto something.
Yardarm won best no and low alcohol lager at the World Beer Awards in 2021.
It’s a crisp and lively lager with a refreshing zestiness. Yardarm tastes of citrusy hops, sweet malt, and bread. Kind of like a hoppy citrus biscuit beer. It’s sweet and malty on the nose with flavors of biscuits and bread in the middle and a mildly hoppy finish.
I’ve long thought I should try to make it to Edinburgh some time. I’ve heard good things about the place—from enchanting tales to historic buildings to an extinct volcano that beckons you to climb its peak to a night club that’s housed in an old church. And now I have one more reason to visit.
Yardarm is vegan, gluten-free, and clocks in at only 40 calories. Great, full flavor for fewer calories. What’s not to like?
Available exclusively at BrewZero in the U.S. shipped directly to your home. For U.K. deliveries visit Yardarm page over at Jump Ship. Ahoy!
