At the beginning of time, there was only weed…if you drink enough of this dank brew you might just come to believe that’s true. Try pairing it with Cheetos. Ztk ztk.
Straight Drank IPA by Two Roots Brewing Co is a bright, floral, juicy, citrus-laden IPA with a light body. There is a mild bitter finish on the back of the tongue that lingers a bit with some bready undertones.
A Bronze Medal winner at the 2020 American Beer Festival, this nonalcoholic West Coast IPA comes with added terpenes—a key ingredient shared by cannabis and hops. It will make you neither high nor drunk, but it does contain tasty compounds with some added health benefits.
Did you know that cannabis and hops are cousins? According to a write-up by Lagunitas:
25 million years ago, there was only weed. And hops (aka humulus) evolved out of weed to chase those moist creek beds, whereas cannabis remained perfectly content to stay in the dry savannahs which get little to no wetness in the winter.
One common terpene to weed and hops is myrcene, which was identified as an anti-inflammatory, pain medication, and antioxidant.
Two Roots Brewing impressed me with yet another nonalcoholic brew. I’ve also enjoyed their Dry Stout, the Passionfruit Pucker, the Enough Said Helles, the Flying Bear Dance Pacific Kellerbier, and their Oksoberfest (review coming up soon!).
Two Roots is quickly rising to the top of my nonalcoholic brew stash. Check out their product catalog here (would love it if they sold a mix pack so you could try them all in one shot!). You really can’t go wrong with giving them a try. Cheers.
Disclaimer: Two Roots sent me a mixed 6-pack of their brews to try. I’ve since purchased more on my own. Thank you for introducing me to your product and for supporting Buzz Free Brews!
